Missing "Sends Update" on appointments.

Hi,

recently I've had to reimport some appointments in Outlook2010 in a Exchange 2010 environment. Unfortunately I read that post too late https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2167170

The post says the GOUID changes and that why the user don't have the "send upate" button. I took a look with MFCAPI, But the ID in the properties 0x03 and 0x023 are the same as in the appointment from the users which were invited.

So, is there any way, that I can recreate manually the "send update" button ?

Hi,

I'm afraid there is no method to manually create the "Send Update" button. The only method to get the "Send Update" button back is as stated in the KB article -- move meetings from one calendar folder to another instead of copy or import. This requires you have access to the original Outlook data file. If you don't have access to the original data file or mailbox that contains the original copy of the meetings, you cannot send updates. You'll need to make new meetings if you need to make changes to them.

Hi,

I've got that, but this makes no sense.  The KB article stated that this happened, IF the GlobalObjectID changed. It doesn't.

Also, if the KB article is right at the moment, then the "send update" Button CAN be manually created back, because if the GloBalObjectID is the original.

So, my state is: the GlobalObjectID doesn't changed and I haven't got this Button. Either the article is incomplete or incorrect and I consider this a bug.
